01 · SCOPE

Who this policy covers

This policy applies to the Arqhiv desktop software, the Arqhiv website at arqhiv.installhub.app, and the Arqhiv licensing endpoints operated through api.installhub.app.

For product and licensing information described in this policy, Stefanel Varga / Arqhiv acts as the product operator and, where applicable, the controller of personal data. Paid transactions use Stripe Managed Payments, where Link / Stripe acts as merchant of record and separately processes payment and transaction data under its own privacy terms.

Arqhiv does not receive or store your full payment-card number or card security code. Those payment credentials are handled by Stripe / Link and the relevant payment networks.
02 · INFORMATION

Information we handle

Purchase & customer dataName, email address, purchased plan, transaction/session identifiers, subscription or invoice identifiers, payment status and related fulfilment status received from Stripe / Link.
Licence dataLicence ID, plan, issue/expiry dates, signed licence key, entitlement status and the minimum data needed to issue, activate or refresh a paid licence.
Technical request dataStandard server and security information such as IP address, date/time, request path, user agent and error information may be processed by our hosting, network or security systems.
Local device dataTrial and licence state can be stored locally on your Windows device. Local trial/licence data is not automatically uploaded simply because it exists on your device.

We do not intentionally ask for special-category personal data, government identifiers, passwords for other services, or payment-card details through Arqhiv.

03 · PURPOSES

Why we use information

  • to deliver the product and issue the licence you purchased;
  • to validate a signed licence and keep a Monthly entitlement current after a successful renewal;
  • to prevent duplicate fulfilment, fraud, abuse, tampering and unauthorised licence issuance;
  • to maintain transaction, accounting, security and support records;
  • to diagnose failures and protect the availability and integrity of the website and licensing service;
  • to comply with legal obligations and respond to valid legal requests.

Legal bases

Where UK GDPR or similar laws apply, we generally rely on performance of a contract, steps requested before entering a contract, legitimate interests in operating and securing Arqhiv, and legal obligations. Where consent is legally required for a specific activity, we rely on consent for that activity.

04 · CHECKOUT

Stripe Managed Payments & Link

Arqhiv uses Stripe Managed Payments for paid plans. At checkout, Link / Stripe acts as the merchant of record for the transaction. Stripe / Link handles payment processing, applicable indirect tax, transaction-level fraud controls, receipts, subscription transaction support and order management.

Stripe / Link may collect information directly from you, including transaction and payment-method information. Their handling of that data is governed by their own privacy notices and terms. You can review the Stripe Privacy Policy.

Arqhiv receives only the transaction and customer information needed for product fulfilment, licence issuance, subscription status and support. We do not use Stripe transaction data for unrelated advertising.

05 · LICENSING

Licence activation & Monthly refresh

Paid licence keys are cryptographically signed. The desktop app can validate the signature locally. A Lifetime licence does not require a recurring online entitlement check simply to remain signed and readable by the app.

For a Monthly licence, Arqhiv may make a limited HTTPS request to the Arqhiv licensing API at startup or another appropriate time. The request can include the currently stored Monthly licence key so the server can verify it, identify the related subscription and return a newer signed licence after a successful renewal. The returned licence is validated locally before it is stored.

A failed or unavailable online refresh is designed not to lock your archive files. Arqhiv keeps the locally valid licence state it already has, subject to that licence's signed expiry date.
06 · WEBSITE

Cookies, analytics & technical logs

The Arqhiv product pages are designed as a lightweight static website and do not intentionally use advertising trackers or behavioural advertising cookies. We may use strictly necessary network, security or hosting technologies that process request metadata to deliver and protect the site.

When you leave Arqhiv for Stripe / Link checkout, their sites may use cookies and similar technologies under their own policies. If Arqhiv later adds non-essential analytics or marketing technologies, this policy and any required consent controls will be updated before they are used where consent is required.

07 · RECIPIENTS

When information is shared

We disclose personal data only where reasonably necessary for the purposes described above. Recipients may include:

  • Stripe / Link for Managed Payments, billing, subscription management and transaction support;
  • hosting, infrastructure, DNS/CDN, security and technical service providers that help operate arqhiv.installhub.app and api.installhub.app;
  • professional advisers, insurers, auditors or service providers where reasonably required;
  • courts, regulators, law enforcement or public authorities where disclosure is legally required or necessary to protect legal rights.

We do not sell your personal data and we do not share Arqhiv customer data with third parties for their independent behavioural advertising.

08 · RETENTION

How long information is kept

We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including licence fulfilment, subscription administration, security, dispute handling and legal/accounting requirements.

Purchase and licence records may be retained for the active life of the relevant licence or subscription and afterwards for the period reasonably required to meet legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention or dispute obligations. Routine technical and security logs are retained only for a proportionate period, unless a longer period is needed to investigate an incident or meet a legal obligation.

Where information is no longer required, we delete, anonymise or securely dispose of it where reasonably practicable.

09 · SECURITY

How we protect information

We use administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the service, including HTTPS for licensing requests, cryptographic licence signatures, restricted server-side storage for private fulfilment records, access controls and separation of public website files from sensitive signing material.

No online service can guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a personal-data breach, we will assess and handle it in accordance with applicable law.

10 · YOUR RIGHTS

Privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to personal data, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or to object to certain processing. Where processing is based on consent, you may be able to withdraw that consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.

These rights are not absolute. For example, we may retain information that must be kept for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention or dispute purposes. We may ask for reasonable information to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Stripe / Link separately controls or processes certain payment and Link-account data. Requests about data held by Stripe / Link may need to be made directly to them.

11 · GLOBAL SERVICES

International data transfers

Some service providers may process information in countries different from your own. Where data-protection law requires safeguards for international transfers, we rely on the safeguards made available by the relevant provider or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

12 · CONTACT
