These Terms of Service and Software Licence govern your use of Arqhiv, including the 40-day trial, Monthly plan, Lifetime plan, licence activation and related online services.
By downloading, installing, activating, purchasing or using Arqhiv, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not purchase a paid plan and discontinue use of the software.
These Terms govern the Arqhiv product licence and related product services. Paid checkout is provided through Stripe Managed Payments, where Link / Stripe acts as the merchant of record and may also apply its own transaction terms at checkout.
Arqhiv is Windows archive-management software designed to create, open, inspect, test and extract supported archive formats and perform related archive tasks.
The standard Arqhiv trial provides 40 days of full feature access from first use. No payment card is required to start the local trial, and the trial does not automatically convert into a paid subscription.

“Lifetime” refers to the duration of the licence, not a guarantee that any particular Windows version, online service, future feature, support channel or product update will be maintained forever. A valid Lifetime licence does not itself expire merely because future development changes.
Paid plans are purchased through Stripe Managed Payments. At checkout, Link / Stripe is the merchant of record. The checkout page shows the final amount, currency, applicable indirect tax and payment terms before you complete the purchase.
Stripe / Link handles payment processing, receipts, transaction-level support, order management and subscription transaction management. Customers can manage Managed Payments orders and subscriptions through Link, including updating payment methods and cancelling or updating a subscription where available.
If the price displayed on the Arqhiv website differs from the final price clearly shown at checkout, the checkout amount shown before payment is the amount you are asked to authorise. Do not complete payment if the checkout details are not acceptable to you.
Subject to these Terms and, for paid plans, successful payment, Arqhiv grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Arqhiv for lawful personal or business archive-management purposes on devices you control.
Your licence key may identify the licensed customer and plan. You must not sell, sublicense, publish, share publicly or commercially redistribute a paid licence key. Any device, organisation or user limits specifically stated at checkout or in a purchase confirmation form part of the licence; if no such limit is stated, these Terms do not create an additional hidden numeric device limit.
Arqhiv, its user interface, code, branding, documentation and related intellectual property remain owned by their respective rights holders. The licence gives you permission to use the software; it does not transfer ownership of the software or its intellectual property.
Paid licences are cryptographically signed. Arqhiv may validate licence authenticity locally. Initial activation may require you to enter the licence key supplied after purchase.
A Monthly licence can periodically contact the Arqhiv licensing API over HTTPS to check whether a successful subscription renewal has produced a newer signed licence. Network failure does not itself create a new entitlement; the signed expiry date and valid subscription state determine Monthly entitlement.
You must not forge, alter, bypass, defeat or interfere with licence signatures, trial state, activation logic, entitlement checks or other technical protection measures, except to the extent a restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
You may use Arqhiv only for lawful purposes. You must not use it to knowingly distribute malware, infringe third-party rights, facilitate unlawful access to systems or content, or violate applicable laws.
You must not reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble Arqhiv except where applicable law expressly permits that activity despite this restriction. You must not remove proprietary notices or misrepresent Arqhiv as your own product.
You retain ownership of the files and archive contents you process with Arqhiv. Arqhiv does not acquire ownership of your content merely because you open or create an archive.
Archive operations can involve deletion, overwrite, compression, extraction, repair or transformation of files. You are responsible for selecting the correct files and destinations and for maintaining backups of important data before performing operations that could change or overwrite data.
We may release fixes, security improvements, compatibility changes, feature updates or revised installers. We may change or discontinue features where reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, technical compatibility or product development.
Windows, archive formats, third-party components and security requirements can change over time. We do not promise that every historical version of Arqhiv will remain compatible with every future operating-system or third-party change.
The Monthly plan renews until cancelled. Managed Payments customers can manage their subscription through Link. When you cancel, Link will show the effective cancellation date; no new renewal should be charged after cancellation takes effect.
Refund eligibility is explained in the Arqhiv Refund & Cancellation Policy. That policy is incorporated into these Terms.
If you are a consumer, mandatory consumer-protection law applies in addition to these Terms. Digital content must meet the standards required by applicable law, and statutory remedies may be available if it does not.
For UK consumers, digital-content rules can include rights where software is faulty or does not conform to the contract. Distance-selling cancellation rights may also apply. Where law allows a right to cancel to end early because digital content is supplied immediately, that result only applies if the legally required consent and acknowledgement have been obtained.
No provision in these Terms is intended to exclude or restrict statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded.
We aim to provide a reliable archive-management product, but software can contain defects and compatibility issues. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Arqhiv is provided without guarantees that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every archive, or suitable for every specialised use.
This section does not affect any mandatory guarantee, conformity requirement or consumer remedy that applies by law.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability where limitation is prohibited by law, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or liability that applicable consumer law requires us to accept.
Where permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses caused by misuse, unauthorised modification, unsupported environments, malware outside Arqhiv, failure to maintain reasonable backups, or third-party services beyond our reasonable control.
If you use Arqhiv wholly or mainly for business purposes, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential business losses, loss of profit, revenue, anticipated savings or business opportunity to the extent such exclusions are permitted by law.
Your Monthly entitlement ends when its paid period and signed entitlement expire without a successful renewal. A Lifetime licence has no planned expiry date, but your contractual licence rights may end if the purchase is refunded, reversed or obtained fraudulently, or if you materially breach these Terms and the breach justifies termination under applicable law.
Ending a paid licence does not transfer ownership of your archive files to Arqhiv and is not intended to prevent you from accessing files solely to recover your own data.
Unless mandatory law requires otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you keep the benefit of mandatory consumer protections and court rights that applicable law gives you in your place of residence.
Before starting formal proceedings, we encourage you to contact us so we can try to resolve a product issue. Payment and subscription transaction disputes can also be raised through the Link / Stripe support routes provided with Managed Payments.
We may update these Terms for future use of Arqhiv when the product, payment flow, law or security requirements change. Material changes affecting an existing paid relationship will be handled with any notice or consent required by applicable law. The effective date at the top shows the current published version.
